Entry from: Lima, Peru Entry Title: "I like Lima...." Entry: "I arrived at the Cruz del Sur terminal which was just thronged. It was more like an airport terminal with a baggage check-in and a huge queue for tickets. I took my chance to sort my ticket out of Lima to Trujillo. Even so I was queuing for half an hour. With that booked all I needed was to find myself some lodging. Having had no internet access I had to go with the Lonely Planet recommendations. Fortunately despite the warnings of doom and gloom in the guide I had a really good taxi ride straight into the Miraflores district and bagged a dorm bed in a hostel overlooking Parque Kennedy. That location is right in the middle of the action in Miraflores which is one of the most affluent in Lima as I understand it. Finally I was able to put my laundry in and then head out for a little wander around the neighbourhood. I hoped that I would be able to get into the Huaca Pucllana, a Lima culture religious site about ten minutes away from the hostel, but it was just closing so it had to wait until the next day. Unfortunately the hostel did not have a kitchen as it turned out so I was forced to eat out which meant a change. Yup, Chinese food and so cheap.
